Sales Engineer – Mining Gauteng

  • Identifying and establishing new business within the mining environment for the range of Variable Speed Drives and Soft Starter solutions.
  • Preparing sales call plans and executing those plans in order to grow the exposure and sales of  solutions around VSD’s and Soft Starters
  • Conducting presentations and specification activities at targeted customers as well as attending related exhibitions and industry events.
  • Entering relevant information into the CRM and ensuring all data is up to date.
  • Facilitate the preparation of quotations with the internal sales team to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Continuous monitoring of the opportunity pipeline and of sales targets to meet business objectives and budgets.
  • Preparation of reports to management to highlight, successes, opportunities, challenges and changes in market conditions.
  • Regularly report on competitors activities to assist strategy formulation.
  • Preparation of technical quotations

MIN QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicants should have a N4-6/S1-4 Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent
  • Formal qualification in Sales or Marketing will be advantageous
  • Minimum of 5 years sales experience within the mining environment and product knowledge o\
  • variable speed drives and soft starters, ( Automation products such as PLC’s, HMI’s and Servos
  • will be advantageous but not required)
  • Must be technically competent with regards to motor starting with digital soft starters and variable speed drives.
  • Must be able to read & interpret electrical drawings.
  • Well-developed English language skills, especially in relation to oral and written communication.
  • Well-developed basic arithmetic skills in order to prepare quotations/ tenders and monitor business targets and objectives.
  • Computer literate and experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels from shop floor to engineering consultants and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills
