OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for designing, developing, testing and commissioning identified system components.
Identify contractual risk, quality and scope issues. Autonomous management of small projects may also be required.
Responsible for ensuring the quality of technical solutions and ensuring engineering processes are followed.
The Test and Commissioning Engineer commissions mine winder systems and drive systems up to 6600V and 10MVA.
The Test and Commissioning Engineer renders breakdown site support on mine winder systems and drive systems.
Renders second level site support on general drives.
Education:
Relevant Electrical Engineering Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering
Relevant Electrical Artizan with MV certification
Automation Drive, PLC, HMI and SCADA
Responsibilities:
Development, design, and all technical aspects of assigned projects
Coordinate the production of cost effective detailed engineering designs in liaison with external consultants and technology partners
Responsible for all timely and accurate distribution of drawings and documentation on assigned projects
Awareness and compliance with project quality procedures (QA)
Manage individual priorities, deliverables and utilisation (time management)
Assist with the preparation of tenders including responsibility for technical solution design
Onsite project work as required
Site Supervision and control of installation phase of project – ensure timely and safe work practices
Control, identify and review all project variations
Understand project scope
Assist in initial project planning to develop required tasks and estimate time requirements for those tasks
Technical:
Abreast of relevant and emerging technologies
Knowledge of design and integration of control systems with appropriate technologies
Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Electrical Engineering role with exposure to Winders
Minimum 2 years’ experience in senior engineer role.
Technical Requirements:
Automation, Medium and Low Voltage Partner projects, power and energy products and solutions is required.
Mastering project software tools (MS Excel, MS Project)
